Learning STEM at the Art Museum
Artists, like Engineers, utilize math and science to create sculptures, drawings, colors and select the best materials to make their artwork. Looking at or creating art through the STEM lenses allows the students to learn in a fun way that fosters creativity, design, and problem-solving skills. Art museums are learning and meditative spaces that not only provide aesthetic experiences but also extensive STEM learning opportunities. Museums provide students with a unique, educational experience that fosters a love for the arts, and enriches their classroom STEM learning. In this presentation, educators will learn how to design fun lessons around a (virtual or in-person museum visit), that will enrich the student's STEAM and literacy skills.

STEM in High School: It's More Than Just the Robots
Many students see activities in STEM as an unattainable goal that's not worth the effort. Seeing how STEM can make a difference in the community can bring about a major shift in that thinking. In this talk, female members of our robotics team will describe via a mini-presentation how community, company, and international outreach have inspired us to continue in STEM and how we've been able to inspire others to do the same and dip their toes in the vastness of STEM.
Presented by High School Students Suhani Dewagan and Anjali Gorti, Viperbots QuadX 6299, Vandegrift High School
